Arvandar

Arvendar is the name the High elves call the realm they go to after their time on the material plane is over. High Elves and Wood Elves do not die of old age. Instead they leave the material world and pass through to Arvendar, when they are reunited with friends and family. IT is not known how long they stay there, or what happens after that, but they feel that it is just another part of their journey in life.

Arvendar is described as a peaceful forest, filled with every type of vegetation imaginable with multiple lakes and streams. There the elves live in perfect harmony with the other inhabitants.
There are immense Elven cities some on the ground and some in the trees, to fit all the elves preferences. Other creatures that live there are animals of every variety. Some are normal and some fey touched. Fey folk also live there, centaurs, faeries, sprites and many other of the fey races. They all live in peace and harmony. The inhabitants is what makes people think Arvendar is an offshoot of the ethereal plane, close to, or perhaps a part of the Fey Realms itself.

The Elves of Arvendar all appear at the age that is most comfortable for them, and they do not age at all. There is no death, sickness, or violence in Arvendar. One of the reason there is no violence in Arvendar is that there is a test to return. When an elf leaves the material world they first pass through a wispy realm and are judged by the Canya, a group of Elven spirits who can see everything the elf did on the material plane. They then judge the elf and if he has maintained a "good" life they let him pass through. If he hasn't than he passes on to Grazon, The human God of the dead to be placed into one of the human afterlives, forever cut off from his elven family. It is said Canya judge people based on their experience. Young elves will often not be judged as sternly as older elves who have the experience to make better decisions.

Dark Elves are elves who have commited a crime so heinous that the elves of the mortal world banish them from elven society. This has a great impact as they invoke the Canya to also bar them from Avendar. A Dark elf that passes is denied access to Arvendar and immediately sent to Grazon. This invocation can only be conducted by Elven elders, and can be reversed though it is unknown to have ever happened.
